The weekend

This weekend was an adventure...as my weekends are often an adventure for us.

After a long work week on Friday night we went to my sister & brother-in-law's Linda & Steve's for dinner. We had a nice evening playing with our nieces Taylor and Paige too.

Saturday we started our day off on a sad note, by attending a funeral service for Burt, the older next door neighbor of Brian's Mom. Burt would always chat it up with Brian and tell him about how cars were made back in his day. He was such a nice kind man-- the last time we saw him was at our wedding. After we left the funeral service, we went home and changed our clothes to join our friends on a Wine Trail Weekend. The group went to Auburn Road Winery first, we missed out since we were at the funeral, but we joined them at Heritage Station Winery. Brian & I went there once before for my birthday and we knew it was a nice place and had great wine. Well we arrive and the place is packed! We had an assembly line, Meg and Lauren were at the front of the line passing our glasses back to us. There was no room to move anywhere! They need to come up with a better set up for future wine trail weekends. Way to many people and way to much stuff in the way. But the stuff was items they wanted you to purchase such as wine glasses, t-shirts, etc. So after tasting all the wines, we left. Jersey White was my favorite, next in line to the Sugar Plum. After Heritage Station we went to Wagonhouse Winery. We really enjoyed this location, it was not overcrowded, space to enjoy our friends and the wine we were drinking. Brian bought a bottle of the apple wine. He really enjoyed it, you can drink it hot or regular. So that was pretty neat. This was our first time tasting wine on a wine trail weekend, it was pretty cool.

Sunday we relaxed and took it easy until the afternoon when we headed to the Flyers game against the Kings. It was an out of conference game, so the team never really plays the Kings. They lost the game. It was really bad. I am not sure where the Flyers were but they didn't show up! They kept skating like it was a new game they just learned how to play! We enjoy going to the games! We went today with Brianna & Joel. Here is a photo from there seats while we were waiting for the game start to go to our seats in the 200 level! After the game we came home and made a quick and easy dinner.
Waiting for the game to start :)
