Our Yard Part 2...

Welcome to the backyard. Yes, our garage and driveway where we park is in the backyard. When we were looking to buy a home, we knew we needed and wanted a garage. Brian is a car mechanic and loves cars, more specifically Mustangs. (more on that in another post)

Brian is focused on the front yard right now, which is great because we need curb appeal. No one can see the backyard grass except for the people in the other houses from their second floors. Do you see that ugly white/grey plastic retaining wall? Well we've been meaning to take it out for the last two spring/summers. Again, we will get to it.

This is the view from where our swing set used to be. In the spring/summer/fall we enjoy eating outside and having fires in the chiminea. Last year my sister got me for my birthday a hammock. That is really sweet, the bars against the fence is where the hammock belongs. We need to get it out soon!

When buying our house the original owners were going to tear it down. We said leave it, we have 5 nieces and nephews. It was the nice Amish one. well it was deemed unsafe during the spring of 2010. We got 1 1/2 years out of it. We think the snow did it in. The kids still ask where is it? And "Uncle Brian" likes to say that "Aunt Steph" broke it.

This picture below shows off the need for us to get staining on the fence and get rid of this "rag" grass. Or is it onion grass....

This is the view show off our whole backyard. We need to replace the aluminum siding on the back of our house. The garage has newer siding. We were told that previously, there was a pool here, back in the 70's. I think that would have been quite a set up! Also on the side of the garage, there used to be a side door to get in and out of the garage. The previous owners didn't use it so when they re-sided the garage they took it out. One day we may add it back in, so when Brian is working in the garage in the winter he doesn't have to open the whole door. It all takes time, money and effort. We will get to it someday!
